  1. if a young bowe stops a 32 year old thomas in 9 rounds, he probably outpoints a prime thomas over 12, or stops him over 15.

  2. I agree with Breeze, Bowe was just too big and talented for Thomas. Thomas was a decent fighter but was really an over-achiever. Bowe in his prime would've been a handful for any Heavyweight. He was big, had a great jab, potent right hand, and was a good inside fighter. Thomas had a good right hand and a good jab, but Bowe had more in his arsenal and would stop a game Thomas in 9.

  3. Thomas had SOME talent but it makes me sick when people compare his jab to that of Larry Holmes.  "Pinky" had a solid jab, almost like Sonny Liston's, but he didn't always come in shape or motivated.

Thomas is one of the few heavyweight fighters with a lazier style than Bowe's.  It would actually be a boring fight because neither fighter has great stamina.  Bowe would score early, winning 6 of the first 8 rounds.  In round 9 a solid right puts Thomas on the mat.  Thomas is up but Bowe is over anxious and unable to finish him.

Thomas makes it to round 10 but does little to give anyone reason to believe he can actually win it. He takes a standing 8 count after Bowe lands a 5 punch combination.  The referee allows the bout to continue but stops it later in the same round after Thomas, back to the ropes, takes 8 unanswered punches.

    Bowe by TKO in 10

  4. Bowe easily stops Thomas in 7 one-sided rounds. Bowe was way too talented in his prime and really only his lack of commitment stopped him from becoming a great heavyweight. Thomas was never all that good if you ask me. The 80's heavyweights pre-Tyson and post-Holmes were a joke.

Bowe would jab Thomas silly and bust him up inside, Riddick was a terrific inside fighter for a big man. Thomas really had nothing but a 1 2 combination. He had a good jab, but Bowe's long stiff jab would've negated Thomas' jab. Bowe lands right hands all night and drops Thomas in the 7th for the count.
