Riddick Lamont Bowe wants to return to boxing to fight Klitschko brothers – Boxing news
Former undisputed heavyweight champion, Riddick Lamont Bowe, who is more commonly known as Big Daddy, has said he wants to return to boxing to fight each one of the Klitschko brothers.
The American pugilist, Bowe, who held a record of winning 43 of his 45 professional fights (1 no contest), with 33 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, claimed he can beat both Klitschko brother, if he is given a year time.
Bowe said, “In a year, I'd just whoop them. A lion recognizes a lion. Them boys is sheeps.”
Bowe has not entered the ring for the last three years. His last fight was against Gene Pukall which was held back in December 2008 and Bowe won it via unanimous points’ decision yet Bowe believes he is King of the Ring.
“If they beat me that proves they're better, then,” Bowe added. “If they don't beat me, that proves I'm the cream of the crop still.”
Bowe’s agent and long time friend, Allen Ellison, also backed Bowe, as he also thinks if Bowe gets a year to train he can easily shrug of the Ukrainian giants.
“In one year the champ would knock out either of them,” Ellison said.
Wladimir ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ Klitschko currently has WBA (Super), IBF, WBO Super, IBO and Ring Magazine Championship belts whereas his elder brother Vitali ‘Dr. Ironfist’ Klitschko is the current World Boxing Council world heavyweight champion.
Moreover, Klitschkos are known for their powerful punches especially Vitali, who has a 93 knockout percentage rate. However, Ellison still thinks Klitschko does not have a fighting heart or a knockout punch.
“Look at their fighting styles. They don't have the heart. They don't have the skills. They don't have the knockout punch. The champ could beat either one of them in a year. There would be no competition. In six months, there would be competition. A year,
he'd knock them out,” Ellison added.
Bowe’s fight with Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko will certainly attract a lot of boxing fans but all that is left to see is weather the Klitschko brothers will offer Bowe a fight or not.
