a man is in a house watching the news, when he sees something on the news, he goes upstairs, turns on a light, and kills himself, why?

on the news was a report of a ship hitting rocks that he was guarding,

so he went up to turn on the light, then committed suicide.

Becuse hes a lighthouse keeper and the light was off and on the news it said how ships kept crashing and people kept dying so they said that whenthey find the lighthouse kepper hes going to jail so he turned the light on and killed him self so that when they find him thats why the light was turned off in the beging (supposing thinking that the new cast would think he was going up stairs to turn the light on some one got him killed him and that now he wouldnt go to jail the person who crashed would gobecuse hes closest to the light house who else would it be?!
