Is a metaphor of course, but what does it mean to you?

How do you take it?

If you people don't know its words from a song that Flobots did.

I take it as how advanced we are. In other words, we are LAZY. Yes the technologies are advanced and really hard, but its making it to where we don't have to learn. We just have everything do it for us. So is the luxury of "not doing" going to fail us in the end when we need to know how? When we don't have to learn because something else does it for us, does that makes us more stupid? I want to learn. Im not dissing technology, because of course it helps, but are there cons to making life easier? And making life easier does that make it more cost efficient? I think in an easy world, we end up paying more, think about it.....

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CATAGORY TO PUT THIS IN!

  1. everything now is to peoples convinience.....drive thru's...elevators..escalators...I just find it funny how the united states complains about americans being "obiese"..which is funny because now they consider a size 9 to be over weight...

maybe they should just get rid of it and stop giving big people handicapp signs so they can park in the front and still get bigger but not walking so much....AND START WALKING IN TO GET SOME d**n FAST FOOOD!!!!

  2. the song rocks. its my ringtone.

  3. Trivia was a good category.

I like the song.  I've read what it is meant to be about:

"The song is about the idea that we have so much incredible potential as human beings to be destructive or to be creative. And it's tragic to me that the appetite for military innovation is endless, but when it comes to taking on a project like ending world hunger, it's seen as outlandish. It's not treated with the same seriousness," Flobots MC Jonny 5 (a.k.a. Jamie Laurie) said.

Regarding what you said about technology, I don't think it is good or bad in and of itself.  It's a tool, and it's what you do with it that counts.  It's done some great things to make communication and getting information easier, but hasn't solved problems like poverty, hunger, war.

  4. i see it as everybody can do anything they want like if they set their mind to it they will do it and i guess the songs just gives random examples about it

i personally love that and funny im listening to it right now

  5. I've never heard of the song, but I grasp the concept. Advanced technology makes communication and the aquisition of knowledge easier for everyone; but what do we communicate and what do we do with the knowledge we aquire? If snail mail were the only means of communication, the amount of meaningless drivel that people exchange via the phone or the net would shrink by more than 99%.  As Marshall McCluen said, the medium is the message.

Of greater significance is the fact that automation is depriving the less educated among us of a means of earning a decent living. Manual labor, which is all they have to offer, is not only scorned but unavailable. Are they going to atrophy on welfare, take to a life of crime, or, given that such people breed at a greater rate than the establishment, mount a new "Peasants' Revolt?"
