hey, im lookind for a new binding and im choosing between the ride delta mvmnt and the burton mission.

describe myself: i can grind on pretty much all rails but not too familer with the jumping. i can turn now pretty well and can stop heelside and toeside easily.

the ride delta mvmnt

or the burton mission

http://www.burton.com/Gear/Default.aspx#/mens/bindings/productDetail/70066/B8143101?activeIcon=icon_0

i would chose the mission in a heartbeat, because i prefer burton products, but its not metal like the ride delta, and now i like that one too. i know the burton mission is plastic but im not sure that it will be able to hold up for long.

also a downer about the ride delta is the convertible toe cap is smaller, but i dont know if thats bad.

im looking for a forgiving binding that wont bust.

thanks for all the help

  1. Since noone is really a fan of the ride bindings here im going to have to put in my 2 cents.

I rode ride bindings for the 3 years and  really liked them loved them.  they are extremely solid and i have never had a problem with mine.  Also the ride bindings are plenty light.  They may be made of metal but they are much thinner than the burtons.  One thing that is a downer about the ride is the toe cap strap.  Correct me if i'm wrong but many companies are making their toe straps so that you can use it as a cap strap or not.  I am unfamiliar with the design on the deltas but they may have a strap that you can use either way.

Something you may want to look into is Head bindings though.  I have a set of PX10s and could not be happier with them.  for free style you might look into the px7s though.

  2. Definitely the Missions. Capstraps are a huge plus. I cant really tell if the highback on the ride is metal or not, but you dont need to worry about breaking Burton products. They have lifetime warranty on the baseplates ONLY. You break it, They replace it. They are very flexible on that. It really depends on the highbacks if you still cant decide on it, But i would definitely go with the Missions.

  3. Well, at least you're choosing between quality products.  Missions are a favorite of a lot of riders, while Ride makes some decent binders.

Having not much experience on Ride bindings, I can't really go into depth about them, but the reviews of their bindings seem to be okay.

I own two pairs of Missions, and I have to say that they are pretty durable as far as I can tell.  The only complaint I have is that the straps seem like they are a bit too short, but they aren't.  What I mean is that the straps sometimes take a little more effort to reach all the way around your ankle and ratchet in.  No big problem, takes about and extra two seconds to fix.

And then as a cosmetic complaint, the white marks easily, but hey, that's what you get for buying white bindings.

Don't worry about the plastic construction, it's durable as long as you don't make it your mission (no pun intended) to break them.  And if they break under normal use, Burton's w48 will cover it.  Usually fast response.

  4. for a forgiving binding that won't break, if would honestly choose the burton mission. It's plastic but it's composite fiberglass too which is strong and way more forgiving than metal. Also the plastic is 1000 times lighter than metal which is great especially for someone new to kickers in the park. I ride flows (which are plastic frame) and have never had a problem, and i'm really harsh on them.

So go with the buton missions.

  5. yea i agree, id go with burton, just from personal experience. ive got the freestyle bindings which are the cheapest bindings they make and they work great. but id also look at other companies like flow who supposedly makes a really good binding.

  6. hello,

its hard to get a good look at these bindings online but, the burton high-back looks more comfortable and more durable.  on the ride high-back, theres that circle cut-out and my brother had bindings like these (not the same exact model) and he managed to snap his at that spot.

go with the burtons. they are better known for their quality.  it might be worth the price.

    happy boarding,

    Miche

  7. burton all the way
