has m/c racing finally peaked now there has to be restrictions and limits imposed. The boffins will push on no doubt, thats the nature of things, but can the tracks for instance, accomodate further advances in technology to machines to make them faster.Could/would you pay to watch robots racing at Brands?

  1. We are 30 years off robots racing ..... at least.

" Nismo " , Honda giant killing robot is 40 years old now and only learned how to walk about 5 years ago. Climb Stars about 24 months ago.

As for the bikes, what type of restrictions do you mean ? CC limits ? That kind of thing ?

That has never been a challenge, the 800cc MotoGP bikes are faster then the 990cc MotoGP were almost from the gun.

Engineers love the test of making a slower bike faster then it should be.

As for the riders, when robots have the talent , wit , charm and speed of the Vale's & the Bayliss's then I might start watching them, but I think even 30 years might be too soon.

  2. I think even with the GPS mapping systems they have now, we are still a long way off Robot racing on Bikes. but I think i would pay to watch it. might even pick a favourite model.  would you programme them to spit the dummy out when they get beat. maybe fit little wheels as knee sliders. or just incorporate them into the bike itself. a bit transformer like.  Yeah id pay to see that.

  3. It's gonna be a while as yet before racing

    reaches any kinda peak -

I hope that before we have to start watching

Robots - perhaps we could just revert racing

back to racing as racing should be - without all

the complications of electronically ridden engines

and all the gumpf that goes with it -

That's where the REAL heroes are !!

As for paying to watch Robots at Brands - (Lol)

NOT ON YOUR NELLY MATE - It's MEN in leather

    that I'm paying for !!! - x*x -

  4. No fun in watching robots racing.

  5. Seem to be headed that way with traction control, GPS and whatever. I dont like it. But maybe the guys that are screaming advance the technology above everything else would like racing robots (Pedrobots?)

  6. If we are going to end up with robots racing, then could I possibly put an advance order in for one to ride my sons bike.  I am sure that would be much more pleasant to watch than watching ones own son ride on the edge at top speed.

I guess I would pay to watch that as I seem to be having my hand in my pocket for racing on a daily basis so why not.
