Riders vs Racer ?

Question

why do people who have horses but only have them for pleasure and jumping etc always hate on people who race horses , they say its cruel but accidents happen in every competition , in jumping and hunter classes there are accidents.

Because that's torture to the horse. (or they think) People who have horses for "pleasure and jumping etc" think of them as there own children. If you were a mother would you want to risk your child??? That's what their prospective is.

I am a hunter/jumper rider and trainer and I LOVE to watch horse racing.  It is a fact of life that accidents happen, unfortunately racing has had some rather public accidents of late, but I always remind people that accidents are just as frequent in the jumper industry, they simply are not televised.  Bad events can give a good sport an undeserved bad name.
