  1. The MSF course is very easy. Just pay attention and do what they tell you to do. Don't sweat it, it's not like medical or law school. Relax and have fun.

  2. I took the course in New Jersey about 12 years ago.  I actually took it twice.  The first time was because the organization I belonged to, ABATE of NJ, started it and I wanted to learn how to ride, then I got my bike, of course it was a harley, then I took it again because they approved the final test as the official road test and all I had to do was go to motor vehicle with my certification card and I got my license.

The course isn't simple, but it is great for first time riders.  You learn on 125cc bikes just like in the video.  They are right there with you and the instructors I had were terrific.  It is worth the money spent if you want to ride.  The classroom stuff is boring at times, but important.  The best part is the hands on part of the course.  Those little bikes are so much fun.  Just make sure you bring the proper items they request.  Gloves, long pants, jacket, proper eyewear, approved DOT helmet if you have one, otherwise they provide one and anything else I forgot to mention.  Take it, you'll enjoy it.

  3. It's just like the video. To be honest that all depends on you. it's as hard as you make, by that i mean if you prep for it listen and participate in class you should be good. If your getting any ride time now great. I would find a vacant lot or something Don't forget your helmet and gear. and work on figure 8's, Quick controlled stops 15mph, and Swerves 15mph. You will get very good training and do not need to do this. These will just make you more comfortable in class.

    Have fun Ride SAFE.

  4. yep....that is pretty much how it goes.  1-10 (ten being hardest), I'd give it about a 2 for the classroom and a 5 for the range.

Advice for you.  Take the course, listen and follow all instruction, and have fun.  Just keep in mind tho....you may be getting the hang of it faster than others in the class.  Dont get cocky and stop truly paying attention cause you think you got it.

  5. that is how the course is at least when I went through it 2 years ago here in So California it is very easy to pass the MSF course so have fun and keep the shiny side up and the rubber down ,things you'll need with you for the riding portion is a helmet, gloves, long-sleeved shirt or jacket and boots that cover your ankles
