West Brom defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liam-Ridgewell-c22240 believes that the team deserves to be higher up on the league table, and insists that they can push for a top 4 finish this season.
The Baggies have earned 20 points from their first 11 games, and have managed their best ever start to a Premier League campaign. West Brom are currently 5th on the league table, and are looking like strong contenders for a Champions League qualification
spot.
West Brom started off the season with an impressive 3-0 dismantling of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
The Baggies enjoyed fine form at home, where they had been a dominant and formidable force. First choice goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Manchester City broke
his spree.
New manager Steve Clarke, who arrived following Roy Hodgson’s departure for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national team coach position, has been highly effective. This marks the Scot’s first senior managerial role at any club, and the boss has been a revelation for the side.
Clarke brought in the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Yacob-c9331 and other players or permanent deals. The manager also tied down existing squad members on new long-term deals, aiming to take the club forward through stability
and a solid core of experienced players.
Liam Ridgewell believes that West Brom have been the surprise package of the season, but has hinted disappointment at dropped points against Manchester City and Newcastle United. The player feels the club would’ve been higher up on the league table had it
not been for those two last-minute defeats.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
“I think we deserve to be there. In fact, I think we deserve to have even more points, to be honest. We’ve done really well but the main thing is to keep that going and show people that it’s not just the start of the season.”
“We are going into a lot of games now with the Christmas period coming up shortly and we’ve got to try to keep it going and picking up points.”
