Rididng with a turtle on the bus and train?

Today I am going to be picking up 2 red ear slider turtles from another city. I have to ride public transit to get there and back. It is about an hour and a half ride on the bus and then on the train. I was wondering how I should bring the turtles around. It is a pretty hot day also. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

They can be dry for that long, but it would be better if you put them in a box with damp news paper or damp paper towels. Don't let them sit in the sun and get hot and I wouldn't tell anybody what is in the box.
