Riding AMTRAK from Georgia to New Orleans?

im 16 and will riding alone to see my family its my first time on a train what should i expect its going to be 12 hours is there anyplace to sleep also how is the food and how much thanks

most (i've only been in 1 without) have plugs for your computer or other stuff

you can also get a sleeper car for overnight trains (Shared or private), that have bunk type beds, but i have not been on those, since i usually take short 2.5 hr trips via amtrak

also, amtrak has only been on time once my whole life, so if you plan on getting there for say, 9am, take the train that'll arrive at 7am, chances are, you won't get there until 10am, or even 12 noon...

for food, you can get misc stuff, things you'd find in a athletic stadium, for about the same price (imagine NBA or overpriced college stadium stuff)

bring plenty to do to occupy. some trains have overhead lights, whilst others do not
