  1. No, sugar melts in the rain...horses can never go into the rain they will disappear.

  2. Yes, horses are waterproof !

Seriously there's no reason why not ( but you might end up cleaning tack afterwards)

  3. You just cant be serious asking this question.  No way no how and you are looking to just see what people say.

    Waste of a question space.

    Get real.

  4. Yess =) its FUN

but dont gallop in mud incase your horse falls

or if theres thunder or lighting

  5. why not?

it is fun as long as it isnt thunder or lightning it should be fine!

  6. yes, as long as you dont get your saddle too wet! as it can sometimes damage it! xx

  7. YES, come on you must know you can ride in the rain!!!!! IT IS FUN, if there is no thunder ect.

  8. well all our horses are galloped, hacked out, schooled in the arena and hunted in the rain! The rain makes no difference! I have hunted through the winter, in the middle of exmoor, through bogs etc in the rain! Just makesure you wear a waterproof jacket, and even waterproof trousers, which you should secure with tape around the top of ur boots to stop them riding up your legs. Try to stick to paths if out on a hack, and dont ride on the shiny sections of tarmac as you may slip. I would also slow down when going down hill. but no there is no reason why you cant ride in the rain! just makesure you clean your tack afterwards (especially if it is leather) as it will go hard and could crack!

  9. Just put on a slicker or duster and go to town. I love riding in the rain. Unless its for work then I cuss it.

  10. Yes, and you can have a good time doing it! The only reason people don't is because they don't want to ruin their tack/clothes/whatever other possessions they keep on them when they ride.

If your horse is extremely wet after you ride him in the rain, you could always towel dry him. So... I don't see why not.

  11. It depends on what you are doing and where you are. It also depends on how much rain you are talking about. Whatever you do DON'T ride on slick footing when it's wet.

  12. Sure!  Just make sure you wear a rain slicker and that your tack is cleaned and conditioned before and AFTER you ride.

If your arena has good traction and no puddles, then you can work at all gates, if just out on the trail, keep it down to a walk and enjoy the ride.  Remember pavement can get slick so try and avoid it.

  13. Sure why not!

I love riding in the rain i feel relaxed, it helps me do my cntering better, but unfortunetlley, i cannot do it on my horse as it spooks to rain!

  14. of course! the weather isnt really a conflict, the footing is. if the footing is wet and muddy and slippery, its very very dangerous for your horse!

  15. You'd never get to ride at all in the UK if you couldn't ride in the rain. :@)

  16. Of course!

  17. yeh sure you can, just make sure the ground isnt to wet as you dont want your horse falling over.

  18. not outside. if you dont have flat, hard ground, your horse could slip, causing extreme pain for you and maybe a broken bone for the horse. if you arena is inside sure, but onbly if your horse is comfortable

  19. yes if your not a fair weather rider, personally i love it because horses bend better in the rain and wind...

  20. Of course. Most horses dont mind rain. Theres no reason why you shouldnt but dont in thunder storms as it will terrify the horse.

When you do ride in the rain make sure you are careful where you are riding as it will be more slippery. In these places just stay at walk.

It is perfectly fine to ride in an arena but it may get waterlogged. If this happens stay out of the waterlogged bits as its bad for the horses legs like deep mud is so stay out of that to btu have fun.

  21. At an eventing rally last year it was storming and they still made us ride [[ cross country and all lol ]] Just make sure the footing is ok and try not to go too fast or jump too high when its really wet.

  22. Riding in the rain is fun!! As long as there's no thunder or lightning of course!

  23. Of course.  The only problem is that you really should re-oil your leather tack more frequently if it gets too wet.
