  1. what about the train?  no good?  just seems easier to me

  2. You can take the N20/21 bus from Flushing.  You can pick up the bus at Main Street and Roosevelt Ave opposite Lippman Plaza.

Here is a link with a weekday eastbound schedule from Flushing to Hicksville.

This link is the pdf adjustable size map of the whole system and you can easily trace the N20/21 route on the map on the link below.

Yes the bus ride will take quite a while depending on the traffic and the time of day.  It is a cheap way to get to the Hicksville sta.  it only costs $2.00 for a metrocard fare

It will take you almost 90 minutes.  So it is just as well to take the N20/N21 bus directly to Hicksville for $2.00 as opposed to taking a bus to Jamaica to catch the Railroad in Jamaica to go to Hicksville.  the fare on the LIRR train will be over 7 dollars off-peak and it will still take you time to travel by bus to Jamaica and then the train.

So yes take the N20/N21 bus and just pay $2.00 for the ride.  You will get to see many things along the route and see the people getting on and off.

Good luck on your trip.  I have also done that trip and I have taken the N22 bus to Hicksville from Jamaica and also the N79 bus from Mineola to Huntington and the N79 bus stops at the Hicksville Railroad sta.  You can even catch the N79 bus there if you want to go out to Route 110 in Huntington to the Walt Whitman Shopping Mall.  (The fare is also $2.00 on that bus

  3. This bus can also be express N20X.  It makes several stops along Northern Boulevard with Main Street, Flushing being it's last stop.  It all depends on where you want to get off in Flushing.  It will probably take about an hour.  My daughter gets off at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Northern from Manhassett on a daily basis to and from school, which is about a half hour ride.

  4. I can see that someone helped you out with question about the bus from flushing to hicksville NY.  I hope you have a real nice trip.  I read in your other question about going to Christian churches as a Catholic.  I want to let you know that although we need to attend church, it is not a church/institution that will save us.  It is a one on one personal relationship with Jesus Christ and belief in him and his word that will save someone.  I was a Catholic too and had similar experiences like when you said you felt a closeness to Jesus in the Christian church.  Do you want to know the secret to getting super close to Jesus?  You need to read the New Testament.  When I began reading it Jesus came so close to me.  I even had two visions of him!!  I would love to mail you a New Testament and DVD about God if you'd like.  If you'd like to email me and let me know where I can send it to here is my email address: forJesuscd@hotmail.com

Read the bible STARTING with the New Testament and you will feel God's presence so strong! :-)
