Where from. I should work on an average MPG of 35. Some parts Will l be less and some will be more. You have motorway for a good distance but the route from Exeter is a dual carriage way but as you get towards Newquay then the roads are quite ordinary. Then there is the motorway hold ups if there is an accident. This will dent the engine economy. Have a good holiday. I had my honeymoon there in 1960.

how many miles 300 ? average speed 60 ? how many mpg on the motorway 40 ? erm , 7 1/2 gallon and return , so 15 gallons  and running around .

Depends how far away you live from Newquay, & how you drive. Last summer I did a 600 mile round trip from Coventry to Newquay at an AVERAGE speed of 73 mph & 39.4 mpg in my 2 litre petrol engined Peugeot 406, plus 100 miles running around on what was left in the 70 litre tank ! so I think you should be able to better my consumption by at least 15 % with a smaller car.
