Right Boys and Girls I Need You To Pick Me An American Football Team To 'Support'?

Really i would like a club with good potential, a mid table club who don't win every game, and who have a good looking kit.

Now as a 'fan', or rather follower of the franchise (i think that is the right term to use) i will try and watch them whenever they are on skysports, attempt to get tickets if they ever play at Wembeley, and use them as my team on Madden NFL.

  1. Right mate, as a fellow Brit who lives in the USA and has followed Football for the last 18 years, go with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reasons are many, for me I started back in the Hugh Culverhouse days with the Orange uniforms, now we have a new stadium, new team colours and a very charasmatic head coach. The team is a mix of young and old players and are in a very interesting division (NFC South). Last season went to the NFC championship game and lost to the eventual Super Bowl Champions and another interesting fact is no team has ever gone back to back NFC South champs, so the Bucs could be the first team to do this , another positive for the Bucs is that the Super Bowl is going to be played in Tampa this season, so it's a chance for them to play in the Big Game on their home field..

    The Buccaneers also play an entertaining type of football with a modified West Coast offence so you will see a lot of short passes with lots of contact at the line. Makes for good hits and their defence is pretty hot also.

    Whoever you choose try to stick with them and not be a fair weather fan (Pats, Colts and Cowboys come to mind).

  2. I'm a Raiders Fan - so of course I would say them - they are on the improve - some young talent with plenty of potential (Russell, McFadden, Morrison, Howard etc)

    But here is my pick to best suit your requirements:

    New Orleans

    their uniform is Black, Gold and White

    have an exciting offence with plenty of young talent - Drew Bree's, Reggie Bush, Colston, and Shockey.  Plus add Ellis and Vilma to the defence -thats plenty of younger potential.

    Also traditionally they have been under-achievers - two seasons ago they had a huge turn around (from 3 wins and 13 losses to 13 wins and 3 losses) but last year was below expectations - but i feel with this off-seasons additions and drafted players they are heading back in the right direction.

  3. the cowboys  more rings and yes they are tied but they wont be after this year

    dallas=6times better than ur sucky team:)

  4. I think by the description of the team you would like to root for would put you in line for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are a mid table team with a lot of potential have one a superbowl in 2002. Have a bunch of old veterans on there team that everyone like i.e Ronde Barber, Derrick Brooks, Joey Galloway etc. They came off of a play off season last year. They are a real likable team.

  5. Who NOT to choose:

    Patriots -They're cheaters

    Jets - They're squealers

    Raiders - Bad ownership

    Lions - Bad ownership

    Giants - You'll be accused of being a bandwagon fan.

    Cowboys - Too full of themselves

    Green Bay - Who wants to be called a Packer or Cheese Head?

    Any others I'd recomend.  Newer franchises like Panthers or Jaguars offer a relatively small fan base and therefore more comrottery when you see another fan.  Old franchises offer history like the Steelers, Colts, or Redskins.

  6. Reasons Why and Why not for every team

    Good Looking Uniforms

    ** Cincinnati Bengals

    Pittsburgh Steelers

    Houston Texans

    Tennessee Titans

    New England Patriots

    Denver Broncos

    San Diego Chargers

    ** Minnesota Vikings

    ** New Orleans Saints

    ** Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Washington Redskins

    Seattle Seahawks

    Mid Table Teams With Potential

    ** Cincinnati Bengals

    Tennessee Titans

    New York Jets

    ** Minnesota Vikings

    ** New Orleans Saints

    ** Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Washington Redskins

    (** = my recommendation for good you)

  7. Green Bay Packers or New York Jets

  8. i live in va so i am a redskin fan. so therefore, i would pick a team that is your home team. unless they are not very good. lol

  9. I'm a Green Bay Packers fan, but for your purposes I would suggest the Houston Texans.  They are an exciting team that is getting better each season.

    If you want to be a fan of the NFL, you need to get the terminology down.

    match=game

    pitch=field

    kit=jersey (I think.....)

    club=team

  10. ive always been a dallas cowboys fan...but they are favorites this year so go with new york jets...they just got brett favre so that's an added bonus

  11. Carolina Panthers

    They don't win every game and just came off an injury to the QB Jake Delhomme but could surprise everyone this year by being a playoff team

    Don't pick Cowboys or Patriots, they're the biggest bandwagon teams out there like the Bulls of the 90s and 49ers of the 80s

  12. Who you should follow depends upon what type of person you are. If you're a regular sort you'll be best off following a blue-collar team such as the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, or Pittsburgh Steelers.

    If you're somewhat prissy then the Indianapolis Colts or San Diego Chargers are your team.

    If you're a freak your best fit is the Oakland Raiders.

    If you;re an elitist the team you want is the New England Patriots and if you're an underdog you'll want to follow the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, or Philadelphia Eagles.

    If you're a history buff your team is Green Bay but if you like shiny, new things you should follow the Houston Texans or Cleveland Browns.

    If you're a bully then the Baltimore Ravens were created with you in mind but if you're a pacifist the Miami Dolphns share your beliefs; they can't beat anybody up.

    If you're incompetent you're a lot like Matt Millen, so the Detroit Lions are the team for you.

    And if you're boring then you can follow Seattle's Seahawks, San Francisco's 49ers, or the New York Jets.

    If you prefer surprises you'll like the Minnesota Vikngs and if you're high on life you want to watch the Denver Broncos.

    Finally, if you're an unsavory-type individual, the Cincinnati Bengals or Dallas Cowboys are right up your alley.

  13. Baltimore Ravens beat my Oakland Raiders afew times on Madden and Pittsburgh Steelers are ust killing everyone in franchise mode on Madden that's the best pick to use there.

  14. Indianapolis Colts

  15. World champions the New York Giants.

  16. Jaguars

  17. Philadelphia Eagles.

    Oh, and by the way, if anyone says Dallas Cowboys ingore them. Well, unless you wnat to jump on the bandwagon. And an extremely arrogant fanbase

  18. Based on your avatar, I would recommend the Miami Dolphins.

  19. Try to watch as many different teams as you can and then choose which one you identify with best. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan, and have been for all my life. I hail from South Texas and people here live and breathe Dallas Cowboys football. I also enjoy watching the Raiders and I will root for them from time to time as long as they are not playing the Cowboys. They're are many good franchises out there and some are just plain horrible but football is so exciting that many people will root for a bad team and have the time of their lives when they win. Loyalty is the key. Anyone can follow a winner but sticking to your team whether they win or lose is what makes football exciting. Every team has a chance to win or lose no matter who they are. Good luck in your decision. I hope your team does well whoever you pick. Don't listen to the Cowboys haters on this post they are all a bunch of Tools. Go Cowboys. America's Team, The worlds team, and God's favorite team

  20. The Carolina Panthers would be an excellent choice for you. When they are healthy they are a really good time. Not an elite team. And that is what you are looking for. And we also have two great playmakers in WR Steve Smith and DE Julius Peppers.
