In a triangle, one leg is 4 and sq root of 6 cm and hypotenuse is 8 and sq root of of 6 cm. find the length of the other leg. (answer simplified in radical form.)

  1. You mean a right-angled triangle?

    If yes then the other leg can be calculated as following:

    square root of [(8 and sq root 6)^2 - (4 and sq root 6)^2]

    the final answer would be sq root of [288] or [12 and sq root 2]


  2. (8√6)2 - (4√2)2 = x2

    384 – 32 = x2

    352 = x2

    √ (352) = x

    √ (16 x 22) = x

    4√22  = x
