Question:

Right and left dominance?

My friend has one of those Razor scooters and sometimes when I go to her house we fool around with it. We are both right handed but when it comes to standing on the scooter, I use my right leg to stand and left leg to push and she uses her left leg to stand and right leg to push.

Her mother once noticed this and asked why I stood on my right leg, because "Right handed people were supposed to use their right leg to push." Now I'm not sure how true that is, but I always assumed it was because my dominant leg was stronger and supported me better. Can anyone explain why we use different legs and possibly tell me which legs THEY use?

  1. I'm right handed, and I stand on it with my right leg, like you.

  2. I am a right and push of with my right. It is different because you apparently got used to using it that way and it became an instinct. Dominance is not involved in this.

  3. im left handed and i stand on my right leg and push with my left

  4. it doesn't really matter. i guess u just like using ur left leg more. like me i'm right handed but in taekwon-do classes i tend to kick my left leg more and my left leg is stronger / more accurate. its just preference
