Right fielder Ichiro Suzuki might play for New York Yankees again – MLB Update
News is coming in the media that right fielder Ichiro Suzuki is expected to play for the New York Yankees again in the next Major League Baseball season. Not only Ichiro but speculations are also mounting that former Chicago White Sox Kevin Youkilis is also
expected to agree to a one-year contract.
“He has a lot of interest from two or three teams but it could get done in the next couple of days,’’ a person familiar with the situation said of Ichiro returning to the Yankees, who are looking to fill the void in right field created by Nick Swisher’s
departure.
“At the beginning we talked a lot but since that time, zero,’’ Attanasio said on Nov. 30 of discussions with the Yankees, which since have been resumed. “As far as we’re concerned, we don’t care what the Yankees do. We have had conversations with multiple
clubs. If we see something we like, he’ll go through with it.”
Earlier this was also came out in the media confirmed that Suzuki’s agent Attanasio is the main hurdle between Yankees and Ichiro’s potential deal. Both sides want a potential re-signing however, Suzuki’s agent still wants to wait in order to get more offers
for his client.
Suzuki’s agent knows that his client is one of the most coveted Major League players in the entire league. Suzuki last played for Yankees in which he finished with good numbers and achieved tremendous appreciation from the entire league as well as Yankees
management.
Suzuki also played a key role leading the Yankees into postseason. He achieved .283 hitting average along with nine homers, 55 RBIs and .307 OBP. On the other hand, Suzuki also carries consistent career hitting average of .322 along with 104 home runs, 660
RBIs and .365 OBP.
Experts believe that Ichiro Suzuki’s re-signing with the Yankees is a good sign and if this potential deal does happen in the near future, the Yankees offence will be more powerful next season. Not only Yankees but this re-signing will be a very good sign
for the eleven-year Major League veteran as well.
