Right-hand pitcher Kevin Correia might sign with Colorado Rockies, speculate sources
Different sources are speculating in the media that Pittsburgh Pirates’ right hand pitcher Kevin Correia might sigh with the Colorado Rockies.
In the recent Major League Baseball season, Correia showed enormous improvement on the mound. He did not show any loop-holes in his game and earned great appreciation.
Correia finished the season on high note achieving 4.21 ERA along with 12-11, 89 strike-outs and 1.30 WHIP.
On the other hand, his nine years of big league experience also shows a consistent performance. He is currently carrying career 4.54 ERA along with 60-65 win-loss, 712 strike-outs and 1.41 WHIP.
Meanwhile, Major League Baseball's annual Winter Meetings are also making noise regarding signing of free agents.
Neal Huntington, the Pirates' general manager however, still showing optimistic to re-sign some of the experienced players who played in their roster last season. He recently gave a detailed interview and according to that particular interview, the Pirates will not let go any of their players to other Major League team without making any offers.
Experts have excerpted several reasons about Correia from Pirates GM’s interview. He was positive about Pirates potential future decisions as he said, “We take a look at what the alternatives are, Can we get better by going cheaper? Is the player value proportionate with what we can expect in arbitration? We have some decisions to make about how we allocate our resources and what our options are; we have to do a better job of hitting on guys like that.”
Regarding Correia, who possesses some extraordinary pitching skills, is still not sure over his future. Though Rockies have shown great interest in him but still there is slight confusion among experts, who still link him with the Pirates ambition to sign him again for the next Major League Baseball season.
Correia, an All-Star, started his career from the San Francisco Giants' roster and later went on to play for the San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Many believe that his arrival in the Rockies will be a great sign but still his future relationship with the Pirates cannot be fully denied.
