I play guitar left handed, but since those guitars aren't very common, can i have a right handed guitar strung upside down?

  1. i believe jimi hendrix did this at one time or another i think you should

  2. yep i would do this if i was left handed as well because left handed guitars tend to be pricier than the right handed guitars

  3. Yes but the pick ups will have to be changed too.  Go to a local guitar store and tell them what you want to do.  My friend Andrew is a highly sought after guitar tech touring on and off for Green Day, NIN, and Bad Religion, Pennywise, etc. and any guitar tech can do it for you too.  He's based in Los Angeles.

  4. it has nothing to do with the pickups, you just need to string it upside down and put a strap button on the bottom horn.  the pickups are symmetrical, and will work no matter what.

edit to the girl above me: I've toured with pennywise and and know both them and the dead kennedys very well and ive never met your buddy andrew?  also how does that help the asker?  and what the h**l do you eman change the pickups?  the principal of pickups does not change if you reverse the strings, thats just stupid

  5. the bridge & nut have to be altered or you will have huge intonation problems!!!

why not just play right handed, you have the advantage being left handed---all the skill and dexterity in the hand that does the finesse work?!!!
