Girl given up for adotion by british father/ SA Mother, in 1962, DNA done in United Kingdom, can this person having adopted parent deceased and contact with biological father have any right to relocate to united kingdom and join her father and his family

  1. A very complicated matter. I would suggest getting an international lawyer of a lawyer from the UK.

    I am from the US but here where I live they use a bit of the old english law. I have heard of some children getting rights to biological parents after an adoption but ideally it is not suppose to happen. When the child is adopted out they loose all the family rights such as the right to inherit; but if she can prove he biological father is/was from the UK she could have grounds to request citizenship.

    To answer the question you asked: she cannot get a passport from the UK unless she is a citizen.


  2. Yes, the UK allows for dual nationality.   I have two passports, one for my country of origin and one for the country I grew up in.

    The answer is yes, he is British by birth.
