Question:

Right side pain that has spread?

For a few years now I have had a strange ache in my right side, the area where my ovary or appendix might be. I have asked several doctors and none have made any big deal of it, saying I was too young(23) to have any ovarian problems. However, it has gotten progressively worse to the point now that every few days I am keeled over in pain, sometimes even causing me to throw up. It comes and goes. It seems worse when I am gassy or need a #2. I always feel bloated on that side, and for the past few months, when my husband and I have s*x, I feel like he is pushing against a painful swollen balloon on my right side. I also noticed the pain spreading to my ribs and back. Does anyone know whats going on with me?

  1. It's probably your gallbladder!  I'm only 22 and just ended up in the ER a couple weeks ago with the same thing.  Go back to the Dr. and see if they will check for it.  And what they told you about being too young to have ovarian problems is a bunch of c**p because I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at 19, and first had problems with a cyst popping when I was 15.

  2. You definitely need a second opinon. My husband had a very similar symtoms when he had something wrong with his kidney. It could be kidney, ovary, appendix. If it's causing you pain your body is telling you something.

  3. If it's where your appendix might be, then it could well be Appendicitis. My brother had horrendous pains even as long as 2 years before he was finally diagnosed with it, almost resulting in him dying on the operating table as all they thought was that it was wind!! Get your appendix checked, and if it's not that, then have a scan? If you press upon the area, and let go, the pain should be worse when letting go if you have Appendicitis.

I'm sorry for not helping very much, but good luck!
