Question:

Right sized argon cylinder?

i am starting to tig weld. what size cylinder would give me enough gas, so i wouldnt have to refill it weekly? also, i want it on the inexpensive side. ive been looking at a #1(20 cu ft) or #2(40 cu ft)

  1. If you're planning to use your tig quite often it might be better to rent tanks from your local welding shop.  Normally the tank rental is for a year and not that expensive.  That way you're only paying for the gas and not the equipment.


  2. Most auto shops use a size 300.
