  1. its regarded as a basic human right. personal matters are to be kept personal unless those involved want to release information.

  2. If for no other reason because things you say can be misconstrued.  An innocent remark, especially taken out of context, can be used against you.

I know people say the same thing you have...I have nothing to hide.  That's not the point.  Maybe you've done nothing illegal, but that doesn't mean there aren't things that you don't want others to know.

  3. I always thought exactly the way you worded that ? until just now when i read your ? It all makes sense why nobody every agreed with me,i figurd i don't cheat steel or lie,who cares let them look.Did you ever stop and think, maybe its our GOVERMENT ,who is doing all the Cheating ,Stelling &  Ling  Think about it are u willing to give up all your personal info to someone who cheats steel & lies? Maybe we need to tap in on there phone calls and use the saddle light dishes to watch there ever move ?If i wanted to be spied on 24\7 I would have become a movie star.We need to have at least the right to privacy.   Debbie

  4. my child, yo info has just been made public, based on a new or refinement of a law that allows the companies to get you medical information, meds u take and dosage. this can now be sold to companies, not for personal use but business. this is used target u and what u buy and send u stuff and know all types. this is no joke, the feds made a change in an existing law. so u r late. per FISA  and its revision the gov. is already listening.

  5. Its for your safety.  Even as I type this right now the FBI is tracking every single letter down to the peiod on the end of this sentence.

The reason why you want your privacy is because you don't want the government incriminating you on something you shouldn't be getting in trouble for.

Also they can blackmail you to get information about other people by saying "If you don't tell us so and so, then we will go public about you doing so and so regardless of whether it is comepletely legal"

Also they can prosecute you for saying anthing relating to terrorism and/or attempting illegal activities even if you say it in a joking and sarcastic tone.  They don't care if you aren't serious and you are just joking, they will track your every movement and possible harass you if they feel like it.

That is mainly why our privacy is important.
