Right turn on a red from outside right turn lane????

Question

In california, If i am in a deisel and i come up to an intersetion like in this picture

Is it legal to make a right turn from the OUTSIDE turnlane on a red light??

Start your turn splitting the lanes, use both to start, swing left far enough to complete turn.Retired truck driver.

I'll answer that question with a question...

When you're in the turn lane,do you want someone cutting across your path from another lane?

Didn't think so!

If you have a large vehicle, at very least make sure your intentions are known (signal) and be at least partly in the turn lane so as to not find a '94 Civic stuffed up into your right front wheel well. Better yet, wait for the light...

Yes, it is legal as long as you come to a complete stop first, it is safe, and it is not posted "no right turn on red".
