(A phobia means I can't look directly at the lens when I insert it, but I have found I can insert soft lenses because I can slide them into position, but I am told my condition needs RGP).

  1. I think you have answered your own question, clever girl.

  2. No it is not a very good idea to insert your RGP in that way. Firstly you will probably loose the lens in your eye, o and it cant go behind you eye its a closed of area. The white part of you eye, conjunctiva, isn't as sensitive as your cornea(area in front of your iris, coloured part, and pupil) so you wont be able to really feel were it is. You can also scrape of epithelium, top part of your cornea like skin, if you press on the lens and move it onto your cornea. So the best is to practice and overcome your phobia(nothing is impossible), I've seen many people that couldn't even stand touching their own eyes handling lenses very efficiently.

  3. When I wore RGP lenses, it was very hard to slid them into position.  Have you tried just looking into the mirror at your eye and then placing the contact in?

  4. I personally wouldn't as you will scratch and damage the cornea. That in itself is agony. All the best.
