Rika Omoto wins Girls 400m IM gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Rika Omoto of Itoman won gold medal of the Girls 400m Individual Medley (IM) on second day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Saturday, September 22.
Omoto demonstrated her immaculate efforts in the distant IM discipline and proved her dominance for the crown. She experienced strong resistance from her following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal.
With her impeccable pace, Omoto remained 3.37 seconds ahead and tapped the wall for the title by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 46.19 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Yui Ohashi of Itoman, who remained more than three body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing blockade as second position holder by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 49.56 seconds.
Ohashi was chased by Namiki Ueda of Itoman, who stayed almost six seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing blockade as third position holder by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 55.65 seconds.
Ueda was traced by Katherine G Drabot of NCSA, who remained almost three seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and settled on the finishing end as fourth best swimmer by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 58.51 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the event was obtained by Lisa N Bratton of NCSA, who stayed almost five seconds behind and completed her race in a time of 5 minute and 03.72 seconds.
Bratton was chased by Courtney Hanson of NCSA, who stayed considerably slower from her preceding swimmer and touched the wall for sixth position with an effort of 5 minutes and 11.83 seconds.
Hanson was followed by Mayu Kimoto of Itoman, who suffered a loss of 0.04 seconds and concluded her swim in a time of 5 minutes and 11.87 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Natalie E Clausen of NCSA, who was two and a half body length behind and tapped the wall with a timing of 5 minutes and 14.24 seconds.
In addition, Omoto expressed happiness over her victory in the IM event and raked medal after the race.
