Rinaudo is not a malicious player, says Sporting Lisbon coach Domingos Paciência
Sporting Lisbon coach, Domingos Paciência, has defended http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gimnasia-La-Plata-c39425 man has come under intense scrutiny for his red card against Vitoria
Guimarães but the trainer insists that it was only due to his fiery nature.
Rinaudo was the subject of controversy when Sporting Lisbon played Vitoria Guimarães away from home earlier this month. The Lions travelled to Estádio D. Afonso Henriques on the 2nd of October and although they won the game, they had to be on
their heels for the majority of the ninety minutes.
Winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Capel-c11100 gave the Sportinguistas the lead inside ten minutes and the away side looked to have wrapped up three points well before half-time. However things changed drastically in the 22nd minute, when Rinaudo was sent off by the referee
for his tackle on Maranhao.
The Sky Blue International tried to take the ball from his opponent, but his effort was thought to have impeded the rules, and accordingly the official called for his immediate departure from the pitch.
Luckily for the visitors, they were able to defend the score-line for the rest of the match and deservedly enjoyed maximum points in the end.
While they were able to secure victory, the blame for making the game difficult has fallen upon Rinaudo, as his marching orders were the reason why his side went down to ten men in the first place.
However Sporting Lisbon boss, Domingos Paciência, reiterates that the player is not entirely at fault and his aggressive personality was the reason why he received the red card in the game.
"Rinaudo is a great professional, who addresses all problems in a serious and aggressive manner. But he is still not a malicious player. And the proof of that is that he is the player who has suffered the most fouls in the league.”
The manager also said that Rinaudo should not be judged for his actions, as his motives were clearly not immoral.
"We have to take caution, as it sometimes creates the wrong image about the player. I ask the judges to have careful analysis of the incident because he is not evil,” Domingos Paciência was quoted as saying.
Sporting Lisbon now play Famalicao in the Portuguese cup but they are going to be without the services of Rinaudo for this one.
