Ring Bo Ree to bid his second victory of the season in the Southwell- Racecourse.Co.UK Handicap Chase on 29th February
The Class 4 Southwell- Racecourse.Co.UK Handicap Chase will be held on Wednesday, 29th February at Southwell over two miles, four furlongs and 110 yards. The race has attracted four runners and has a £3, 249 purse for the horse who races through the distance first.
Among the lineup, Ring Bo Ree, Topanoora’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare La Ronde, has raced twice during the 2012 season and recorded his seasonal debut victory by winning the most recent start that he made.
Ring Bo Ree won the Win Whatever The Result With Betangel Handicap Chase on 15th February at Southwell, raced over two miles and four and a half furlongs. The race comprised of sixteen fences through which Ring Bo Ree won by a length while riding with Paddy Brennan.
The 7/2 favourite of the race, The Disengager, had to discontinue racing once he fell after taking a strong and firm start.
His debut race of the season was the Ladbrokes.Com Handicap Chase on 18th January at Southwell, raced over two miles and four and a half furlongs. The 85/40 favourite of the race, Corkage, won by a staggering thirteen lengths putting Ring Bo Ree into the runner up’s position. Once again Paddy Brennan was onboard.
The nine-year-old has bright possibilities of winning the race today as the rest of the lineup is not exactly lethal.
Another entry for the race who has encountered some tough competition lately is Milgen Bay, Generous’s six-year-old brown gelding out of mare Lemon’s Mill, is still to post a victory for the new season into which he has already stepped.
He was third in the Better Prices On Betfair Mobile “Jumpers' Bumper” National Hunt Flat Race on 10th February at Kempton. The winner of the race was the 1/16 favourite, Oscar Whisky, leading by three lengths while the runner up for the race was Sir Harry Ormesher.
The last time Milgen Bay posted a victory was on 3rd November 2011 in the Weatherbys Maiden Chase at Towcester over two miles and half furlong. He was entered as a 6/5 favourite for the race and led by amazing sixteen lengths.
He has been winless in three of his last starts and has chances of breaking loose from that in today’s race.
