Question:

Ringing in ears after metal concert?

So a couple days ago I went to the Metal Masters concert...it was my first ever concert, and I didn't know to bring earplugs. Of course, it was loud as h**l, and I was pretty much deaf with ringing in my ears for the rest of the night after the show. So now, two days later, my hearing is pretty much normal, except the ringing is still there. About how does it take before the ringing goes away?

  1. The ringing in your ears is caused by damage to the outer hair cells of your cochlea. The ringing is a product of this and should go away with time. Remember that anytime you hear ringing in your ears you have done permanent damage to your hearing. We have all been there before though. This will probably not affect the way that your hear daily, but too much damage certainly can. Wear ear plugs next time and I hope the annoying ringing goes away.

  2. Thats normal, It goes away soon. Glad you weren't at a system of a down concert. I couldn't hear anything after that night! If i doesn't go away in 4 days go to a doc.
