Ringing in the ears?

I know for a fact it's NOT Tinnitus. what would be a good (with going to a doctor or without taking medicine) way to die down the ringing?

  1. Ringing in the ears IS Tinnitus..that's the medical term for it..no matter what the cause....It can be caused by certain medications (are you on any?) and certain equilibrium disorders...you should be checked out by a good ENT doctor (ears,nose and throat)


  2. Here are some causes for ear ringing. Mine started when I got a high fever. I would need to know how long you've had it and your age.

    Spherical damage to the inner ear structure of tiny nerve endings that carry information to the brain.

    The majority of cases, especially in the young, are due to the cumulative effect of loud noises higher than 90 decibels.

    Osteosclerosis -- stiffening in the bones of the middle ear

    Wax build up in the air can give temporarily Tinnitus

    High or Low Blood Pressure

    Circulatory problems bring about the hardening of arteries due to age

    Aneurysms

    Medications -- Antibiotics (e.g., aminoglycosides), Anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. aspirin) and Antidepressants

    Sinus infections

    Ear infections

    Head and neck trauma

    Temporomandibular joint misalignment of the jaw

    Diabetes

  3. its a sign of hearing loss when you've been listiening to headphones to loud

  4. if you listen to music that uses earphones thats probably the reason so just don't just it as much or get headphones  

  5. Maybe allergies. See an allergist.

  6. maybe you listen to too much loud music from ipods or MP3's, or maybe you just imagine it's there try to forget about it.
