Rinse mouth out after every snack/meal?

i just got braces and i feel the need to rinse my mouth out after i eat any food. my friends that have braces say they dont have to rinse there mouth out that often but if i don't it feels uncomfortable. will this feeling going away?

  1. yes , u need not feel about that, because ur health is important than any feeling....

When I got braces I didn't have that feeling to rinse, although I think it may be because a lot of foods get stuck in braces so you're uncomfortable with that feeling, but over time I think you won't feel the need as much. My orthodontist advised that I brush after every meal, so maybe you want to consider that.

    Another example of something that I did when I just got braces but don't do now is use the wax. When I just got them on I had wax on every bracket of my braces and I didn't even know how I would survive on just one container, but now I don't even use it anymore.

  3. The food gets stuck in between the wire and thicker liquids are more likely to cling to your teeth. It's going to feel weird for about a month, as then everytime you get them tightened

    I would definitely promote rinsing (or even brushing) after each meal, as it lowers the chances of tooth decay. If you don't, you can get some pretty painful consequences.
