The Lille captain is a happy man in town after putting in an impressive performance for Les Bleus against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898 on Friday, and is looking forward to nail down a starting place in Didier Deschamps’ side.
The Frenchman played with great composure and commitment in Les Bleus 1-0 win over Finland in the opening match of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, and he is a strong bet to start the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849.
The 28-year-old midfielder has set his sights on helping France achieve maximum points from their next game.
While talking to reporters, the former Bordeaux player stated that he never lost hope of making a comeback in the national team, and he had a strong belief that he will get another chance at this level.
“I always believed I could make it back into the team, even during some pretty tough times.”
The 28-year-old said that it was certainly tough, but it wasn’t impossible. There were tough moments in his career but he didn’t lose hope.
Mavuba always believed that he can make a comeback to the national team and playing for a club like LOSC Lille, helped his case.
"I told myself it would be tough, but I always believed. There was no reason to think it was impossible, especially while playing for a big club like Lille.”
The Lille player said that he missed being part of the French team and he was itching to get back as early as possible.
Rio Antonio Mavuba is enjoying his time with Les Bleus and is looking forward to become a regular at this level.
“I've always given myself the means to make it back and now I'm savouring each moment and making the most of it. Before I didn't really realise it, but now I'm aware of how much you can miss Les Bleus."
France are set to face Belarus in their second match of the 2014 World Cup campaign, and Mavuba has set his eyes on winning all three points from that game.
