Manchester United defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 admits that he has no respect for Luis Suarez and feels the striker needs to mend his ways.
Suarez was banned for eight games, following a racial slur that he directed in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231’s direction.
The Forward was included in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 starting eleven, which took on Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday night.
Patrice Evra went on to try and shake Suarez’s hand, but the striker walked past him, with no intent of leaving their past behind them.
This decision by the forward was not appreciated by Ferdinand, who refused to shake the strikers hand and seemed to be rather infuriated by the Uruguayan’s decision.
Following the game, Ferdinand went on to reveal that he had lost all respect for Suarez and feels the striker needs to mend his ways before it’s too late.
Ferdinand is quoted to have said: "After seeing what I saw I decided not to shake his hand. He's not got the respect that he needs to have in these situations and acknowledge he's made a mistake and say sorry. I lost all respect for the guy after that."
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international also admitted that the issue between the two players could have easily been resolved in the game, had the two players shook hands.
However, Suarez’s decision is only going to prolong the tension between the players for an indefinite amount of time.
He then went on to add: "It's a touchy subject at the minute and things could have been put to bed a little bit easier if the handshake had been done"
"It could have been resolved today, maybe, between the two people who are involved. After this, it's not great. It's disappointing. I expected more from the other guy but it wasn't to be."
It is hard to disagree with what Ferdinand said, considering the fact that Suarez just had to shake Evra’s hand.
At the same time, if anything, Evra should have been the one to condemn a handshake between the two and not the other way round.
Nonetheless, what can be said assuredly, is that the issue between the two is not going to be resolved any time soon.
