The former Leeds United star has conceded that the summer has been a different one for him as he was left out of England’s 2012 EURO squad by Roy Hodgson who picked John Terry instead but now things are shaping up for the Englishman
at Manchester United as the new season approaches...
Rio Ferdinand has iterated his desire to continue playing for the England national team at the international level despite his exclusion from their squad for the European Championships over the summer.
Ferdinand was left out by England’s new manager Roy Hodgson who opted to take http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173’s younger
brother, Antoine Ferdinand. However things are now different for Ferdinand as he is focusing on his role at Manchester United.
Over the past three years, the former Leeds United centre back has been suffering from chronic back and knee problems but last season he did well to play regularly for Manchester United as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 was out injured. Manchester
United’s veteran defender is currently on tour with the club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926 but he is raring to go for the Red Devils in the new Premier League season which kicks off next month in August.
Ferdinand said, "I said that if I was not playing in the summer, I did not see myself playing in the future. But I would never retire from international football. I will always be available but my main focus is playing for Manchester
United.”
He added, "I won't be miffed if I'm not in the England squad because I don't see myself being part of it anymore. It's gone; this is a new season, that has happened. The Euros is finished, England played the way they did and the
tournament has finished."
Rio was also an initial part of Team Great Britain’s football team squad under Stuart Pearce but he was excluded in the final cut. Ferdinand will be gunning to prove himself once more in the next league season as United will face
title challenges from Manchester City as well as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
