Rio Ferdinand says new Chelsea players need some time to settle
Manchester United defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 believes that Chelsea’s January 2011 signings will fail to make huge impact which is expected from them in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Ferdinand said, “The Torres deal did make me think, 'wow, they've really gone for it'. But will those transfers really improve Chelsea this season? I don't know. Next season, I would say, 'yes, they will'. But it is hard to settle in quickly in January.”
The English skipper claimed that new Chelsea players would still need some time to give their best performances.
Chelsea broke all the previous records to sign Fernando Torres from Liverpool for a British record fee of over £50 million on the deadline day of the January 2011 transfer window. The Blues also landed Brazilian defender David Luiz for reportedly £25 million

Chelsea bought two new players to bring their Barclays Premier League title campaign back on track. However, both players have failed to make any visible impact in Chelsea colours.
The Blues had a superb start of the current season- leading the table with more than five points in the starting two months. However, their dip in form and under-par performances have almost slumped them out of a Champions League spot for the next season.
The West London giants are currently placed fifth in the League and are 15 points behind the League leaders Manchester United. With the title already out of their reach, the Blues are trying hard to at least finish in the top four at the end of the season.
