The Lille captain has expressed his delight at being recalled to the French national side for the first time in three years.
Les Bleus are set to face Uruguay in an international friendly match tonight and coach, Didier Deschamps has named a young squad for the match.
Mavuba, 28, is among the old guards of the team despite only six international caps to his name. The player is looking forward to grab this chance and said that he needs to act as a role model for the younger players in the squad.
While talking to reporters, the former Bordeaux player said that every player in the squad has a duty to fulfil.
"Everyone is responsible and you know you have a duty. We must be exemplary role models for young people and those who love football," the 28-year-old said in an interview to the French Football Association's official website.

performing well for Les Bleus against Uruguay.
"I am proud to be here, I'll savour every moment. The new coach has put me in his first squad; it is a mark of trust. Now, I want to play. I am not putting too much pressure on this match.”
The midfielder admitted that he might have to start the match from bench but vowed to give his hundred percent for Les Bleus.
Mavuba added that at the age of 28, he is not getting any younger and this might be the last chance for him to prove himself on the international stage.
"If I get to play I will give everything. I am 28; it is maybe a good age to impose myself. I will try to show what I can do on the pitch."
