Rio Valentino tipped to win The Romforddogs.com Maiden Stayers
Rio Valentino is likely to prevail in The Romforddogs.com Maiden Stayers at Romford in England on Friday, April 27, 2012. The winning greyhound will walk away with a cash prize of £175.
The stamina of all hounds will be tested today, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 575 metres. The race is scheduled to start at 20:02 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Rio Valentino, Young Vicarious, Killahara Jewel, Bridge
Cruiser, Makeit Sparkle and Newtown Hawk.
Considering the longer distance of the event, the bookies have favoured Rio Valentino, as he is known for his good stamina. He is not a good starter, but that will not be important today.
The punters are likely to place a lot of bets in favour of Rio Valentino, despite the fact that his performances in the Grade OR events are not much impressive. However, he seems to be in a better shape compared to his rivals, which might work in his
favour.
The D. Riordan’s trainee is not in bad rhythm at the moment, as he performed really well in a T2 event at Romford recently. Although it was a shorter distance race, he was able to dominate the proceedings. He will need a similar sort of show in order
to compete against his opponents today.
The brindle dog is the son of Killahan Phanter out of Safari Princess and was born in February 2010.
Another runner, who has won pretty decent odds for the race, is Young Vicarious. He is a seasoned runner and will definitely use his experience to trouble his opponents. He is a regular in this class, thus the bettors might risk some money in his favour
as well.
In his most recent race, the P. Young’s trainee finished third overall. Despite not being the favourite to win back then, he gave a tough time to his rivals and did not allow the top two to dominate the proceedings completely. The veteran hound is
the son of Droopys Kewell out of A Mon Avis and was born in September 2008.
Other than the top two favourites, Killahara Jewel might also attract some bets in his favour in the race at Romford.
