Riot Of Colour confident to win Piper-Heidsieck E B F Fillies’ Handicap
The Ralph Beckett-trained bay filly, Riot Of Colour, is quite confident to add second straight success to her portfolio by winning the Piper-Heidsieck E B F Fillies’ Handicap that will be held at Newmarket racecourse on Friday, July 13.
In the Class 2 event of £12,450, the three-year-old novice runner will face 14 rivals including some big wigs like I ‘M So Glad and Abi Scarlet.
It is for the second time in her career that Riot Of Colour will show her guts on the 7-furlong track of Newmarket. She last ran over there on April 19, 2012, finishing as a runner-up against 18 contestants.
The brilliant daughter of Excellent Art out of Riotous Applause started her career in September 2011 and finished second in each of her first four starts.
The Car Colston Hall Stud-bred momentous sprinter marvellously broke her maiden in her last outing on June 27. Being the 8-11 favourite, she convincingly fought against a dozen of rivals in the Smith & Williamson Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.
That was indeed an outstanding performance that miraculously increased the filly’s market value along with boosting up her morale.
Now, Riot Of Colour is going to seal another sterling success with sheer confidence and strong will. On the paper, she has up to 90 percent chances to thrive.
But I ‘M So Glad will come hard on her in the race. The Mick Channon-trained bay filly excellently bagged a couple of consecutive victories during June 2012, one each at Windsor and Ripon. As a whole, the daughter of Clodovil out of Dilag has 3 classic conquests
to her name.
Thus, I ‘M So Gold will give enough tough time to Riot Of Colours. Let us see who of the two wins the tough battle.
Among the other runners, Abi Scarlet is likely to perform well today. The Hughie Morrison-trained bay filly earned a superb victory each in April and May 2012 at Southwell. She also has a lot of pleasant experience with soft grounds.
In this situation, a close clash is expected at Newmarket. Let us see who turns the tables. Good luck to the entire line-up.
