Yes the Derby ended terribly. I was shocked that Eight Belles went down. She was one of my favorites in the Derby. But things like this happen in horse racing everyday. Just sad that it happened on the greatest day in horse racing. This same thing happened to George Washington. He broke down in the stretch in the Breeders Cup Classic, and was shortly euthanized. This is the only part I don't like about horse racing.

So.. why hasn't PETA gone after horse racing like they go after KFC?  Or have I just not been paying attention?

I respect the right of people to have a different opinion from mine, but personally I don't enjoy horse racing enough to see even 1 horse go down this way ..

Unfortunately, it's all a part of the sport. Its truly sad, but things like this happen. She ran a h**l of a race and now she's off to the big racetrack in the sky. RIP.
