Ripcurl Boardmasters Newquay - beach access?

Question

Im going to newquay next week, and that's when the big surf festival is on the beach, does that mean the beach is out of bounds to anyone without a ticket? any info hugely appreciated xx

i live in newquay and the rip curl boardmasters tournament on fistral beach is NOT a ticket event!!!....the beach, as always is open to the public...the north side of fistral will be holding the event, and the site of all the marquees, bars, stalls and other attractions....expect crowds up to 15,000 though....The rip curl concerts which are held at watergate bay IS ticket only....i suggest you contact the newquay tourist information website for availibility of tickets...last i heard it was sold out...but i'm not sure....enjoy yourself on fistral though, i'll be there are it is a fantastic event with loads going on!!!!!!!!!!!

The best way to get to the event on fistral is to walk down headland road towards the headland hotel...don't even think about driving!!!....the road will bring you straight on to the beach!!!
