The veteran midfielder has eulogized the Barcelona star and has stated that Iniesta is a legendary footballer, second only to Lionel Messi.

The Argentine claimed that Lionel Messi is the best player in the world and expressed that Andres Iniesta is the only other player who is close to matching his standards in terms of football.

Riquelme maintained that Iniesta is one of the most prominent graduates of Barca’s youth academy and has done great things for the club.

"If we have to talk about the rest, the best for me is Iniesta. There is nobody like him, he is unique. He goes forward, he tracks back when he has to, he goes to the wings. If the game is deadlocked Guardiola sends him to the left side of attack and he
creates all sorts of trouble for the right-back. He can do it from anywhere," Riquelme quoted about Iniesta.
"When he was 15 or 16 years old he was already training with us. He was far better than the rest of his age."
Juan Roman Riquelme represented the current Spanish Champions in 42 matches and found the net six times during his time at the Catalan capital.
