  1. They are franchise, the growth is about 4700 from '84.

  2. Well i have this essay i wrote but its about McDonald's and China hopefully it kinda helps.

The United States has a dramatic influence in the rest on the world in today’s society. In James L. Watson’s article, China’s Big Mac Attack there was much rave about the spread of American culture to China. Though this is true, it is not necessarily anyone’s fault for the spread, but is due to the fast-lived life of the people today. Not only McDonalds has spread, but also many of the American advertised fast food corporations including Kentucky Fried Chicken, Starbucks and Pizza Hut. These places contour themselves to the taste of the people that they serve. People want something that tastes good on the go, and that’s when McDonalds comes into these lifestyles.

McDonalds made its debut in Beijing, China 1992 ultimately changing the ways people lived as well as causing major economic shifts. Some people say taking China by storm, seeing that they populated so abruptly. Due to the large population in China there are more McDonalds to accommodate for all the people, actually there are about as many McDonalds in the America as there are in China, if not more. Fast food is in demand especially in China because of the trends that are set by the youth and their interest, which was heavily influenced by Americans. Cooking seems to be a second option to food on the go.

McDonalds certainly not one-dimensional is multicultural and tasteful to everyone’s needs. From Argentina to Yugoslavia McDonalds finds a way to accommodate people of every culture. Is that to say that McDonalds only belongs in the United States? No, traveling within the United States McDonalds changes the menu the taste of the people in that area, it adapts to the food that is made in the region. Not every menu is hamburgers and French fries, not every breakfast is Hotcakes and sausage. Even in Hawaii the breakfast menu changes to what the people in the region like, spam and eggs and other sorts.

Japan, Europe and Africa are also heavily influenced by American culture from fast food to birthday parties. Why is that China has been attacked by the American ways of life? On the outside it may seem that America is forcing its ways of life on other areas of the world, but it’s not that ways at all. Economies all over are moving fast pace and don’t have time as they did twenty years ago to cook, sit around the table as a family and eat three square meals a day. McDonalds appeals to children, teens, and adults alike worldwide.

I didn't put the conclusion, it was worthless anyways.
