  1. Last year's winner was Joel Selwood, and I wouldn't say he was playing in a below average team!

  2. In answer to your question...I'll also mention how they have gone for those who care

Nathan Buckley (Brisbane Bears)... They finished 13th with just four wins...several years before they started to make their move. Nothing needs to be said about Bucks and his career

Chris Scott (Brisbane Bears)...Five more wins that last year, an imrpoving side. Scott himself was a very tough defender and a premiership winner.

Nick Holland (Hawthorn)...they finished 15th. The side wasn't really below standard, just undermanned. A solid contributor with good hands but never really quite lived up to his potential. Shoulder problems.

Ben Cousins (West Coast Eagles)...made 4th but bundled out of finals by Bombers in the Semi's by huge margin. Still a good side but on a downward slide. Cousins career is well documented

Michael Wilson (Port Adelaide)...made 9th in their debut season, had a solid, competitive side. Wilson himself was a hard working and courageous player who suffered two shoulder injuries.

Byron Pickett (Kangaroos)...made the GF but lost to Adelaide. Picket was a very hard b*****d in defence, very controversial but had a rather miserable end to his career at Melbourne.

Adam Goodes (Sydney Swans)...only just scraped into the eight. A champion big man of the game but prone to getting into trouble

Paul Hasleby (Fremantle)...Typical ordinary season for the Dockers, finishing 12th. A proven peformer in the midfield who didnt feature this year because of a knee injury.

Justin Koschitzke (St Kilda)...Second last and absolutely stank. He has has suffered terribly from injuries, most notably his fractured skull but when he plays he is a talented key position player.

Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda)..Again another poor season, same position. A proven CHF who definately made an impact early in his career

Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn)...missed out on the 8 by a game...disappointing effort. Mitchell is a hard nosed midfielder who racks up possession.

Jared Rivers (Melbourne)...pertty good year for the Dee's who were unlucky to go down by 4 pts in the Qual Final. Promising midfielder who has suffered from a knee injury. Probably one of the better players on the Dees list currently.

Brett Deledio (Richmond)...finished 12th but two games out of finals, another of those irritating Tiger seasons IMO. A real gem and is going to get better.

Danyle Pearce (Port Adelaide)...average season for Port, finishing 12th. Never look like making the 8. Dont know alot about Pearce but I hear he is extremely quick and dangerous going forward.

Joel Selwood (Geelong)....Premiership. Duh. Selwood is already well established and going to be a superstar. Probably the most complete young player going around.

Rhys Palmer (Fremantle)...Well, you all know how bad Freo sucked. Despite me living in WA, I know very little about Palmer but did know he caught peoples attention in the Derby.

Its a bit long and hard to read but Yahoo Q&A isnt friendly in regards to posting nice posts. For the record, what I have written is merely my opinion. Dont like it? Tough titties...go do your own summary.
