  1. 1. you must first assess possible risks...even highly unlikely ones...

    2. then create a situation that eliminates as many of those risks as possible, but still allows you to meet your goals...

    3. create a contingency plan to deal with unexpected situations or scenarios that may arise...

    4. inform all necessary individuals of what risks you are looking to avoid and how to do so...

    5. create a uniform policy for people to follow if situations arise that threaten the outcome of your endeavor...

ex: you are planing a public event where you will be dealing with a variety of individuals in an outdoor setting...

what are the risks you assume with your venue?

what risk do you assume once the individuals are at your event?

are food and drink/alcohol served? (this is one of the biggest risk indicators)

what risks do you run with weather?

how do you prepare for possible medical emergencies?

what risks are you/your employees assuming personally?
