My wife is about 4-5 weeks pregnant. today her sister startled her and she jumped fast...could this lead to a miscarriage? what would the signs be if God forbids and a miscarriage occurs? when will we know about it?

  1. I wouldn't worry - A woman's body is not so frail.  I know of women that have fallen down, been in car wrecks etc. and not had a miscarriage.  Miscarriage is usually the result of something being wrong genetically with the baby and a woman's body well. . . getting rid of it.

  2. I still worry about miscarriage and I am 16 weeks, and miscarriage typically occurs before 12 weeks. I understand your worry but she is probably fine. If she miscarried, she would bleed and would have pain. However, in the 2nd trimester, slight cramping and pain and even some bloody urine is normal. If it doesn't go away when she eats or drinks a couple glasses water and lies down on her left side than call a doctor or just go to the ER. In the first trimester, miscarriage is typically a result of a genetic abnormality or nature's ways of saying the baby just won't make it. However, in the 2nd and 3rd trimeser, miscarriage is a little more likely (but not completely due to) something that happens, like lifting or carrying too much, too much stress, drugs, malnourishment, etc.

  3. well its unlikely that would cause a misscarriage.

symptoms are thou, cramping, spotting and pregnancy symtoms fading like sore b*****s are no longer sore.

i would no this as i experienced it myself 2 weeks ago.

  4. i was doing super man leaps when i was 16 weeks pregnant:) she is fine the baby is well protected in there :)

  5. no.......shes fine!

  6. i don't think that would cause a miscarriage...but if she did she would start bleeding that's how you would know.

  7. It's unlikely that she will miscarry. However, just tell her to take it easy. Believe me, she will KNOW when she has a miscarriage. It's not something you miss. If she starts experiencing pain and bleeding, get her to the ER quick. Congratulations on the baby!

  8. Everything happens fro a reason, Just make sure your both taking care of yourselves.  I don't think that being startled would cause a miscarriage.  If she has been told she is a high-risk pregnancy then it might be something to question her doctor about.  I doubt any harm has been done here.  Congratulations and Good Luck!

  9. No, this will neither harm her nor the baby. All she did was jump, babies are tough! they are built to survive.

The other poster is right that the most common reason for m/c is genetic abnormality - and this is extremely common. But someone making her jump isn't going to cause it.

The first sign of an impending m/c are light bleeding.

  10. severe cramps n finally bleeding leads to miscarriage...i think ur wife should be fine!GD
