Riu Palace in Cabo? Or Sandals resorts?

My boyfriend and I are attempting to plan our first vacation together. The planning is mainly on my end as he is stuck out on a carrier until the end of May being a good Navy pilot. When I do get to see him we will both be wanting to go somewhere romantic and beachy, on that note...I had two questions:

1. I've gotten a lot of different responses on the Riu Palace All Inclusive in Cabo..can anoy testify with a recent experience on its worth? If not is there another all Inclusive resort you would suggest? Is the Dreams comparable?

2. If not Cabo, should we consider a Sandals resort? I have a feeling we might be one of the few that aren't there for the honeymoon or anniversary. What Sandals resort would you recommened for a late 20's couple who like their cocktails. We are looking for a great pool and a nice beach. Some activity would be great, especially nightlife. But not too crazy. Still relaxing. I've heart Montego Bay was fun, but then I heard it was trashy and loud.

  1. Sandals definitely

  2. My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon in 2006 and had a great time. There were lots of activities planned during the day, or you could just hang out and relax. In the evening they had outdoor dinners with shows, kareoke, and a small nightclub. While everyone there seemed to be enjoying the cocktails, no one was crazy or too wild. It wasn't like a spring break scene or anything like that. The food was amazing, the beaches were well maintained, and everything was kept spotless. Most of all the people were very friendly and more than willing to assist with anything you wanted. They had several nice places too eat and food was served 24 hours a day. I was also surprised at the age range and groups of people. My husband and I were both 25 at the time, and most people there were our age or a little older. There was one couple there who was very adorable and said they came to Sandals once a year for the last 20 years or so. There were also a few groups of people who came with friends. I highly recommends Sandals. I've heard from others that it is the best of the all-inclusive resorts. Although it is the only one we've been to, we're already thinking of going back this summer. Neither of us could think of a single negative thing to say about the resort. I hope this helps!

  3. Go to TripAdvisor.com and type in your resort name.  The first thing you will find are dozens of trip reviews written by previous visitors to the resort.  You can view pictures that some of them posted, and even view videos.  Look around that site and you will learn a LOT about any resort you are considering.

  4. Okay.... Riu Palace hotels are beautiful resorts, especially in Cancun. You should have a look at this one also. But Dreams to me has more to offer any couple.... even if you don't feel like going anywhere, this All-Inclusive hotel will certainly make you feel at home.

However, I've known Sandals Hotels are the best place for "Lovers" as they say, and not just honeymooners. The best one I think, is the Sandals in St. Lucia. You will not regret it. Take care and Good Luck.
