going here in october does anyone know what the weather will be like? and what the hotel is like?

HI Sugarcan,

The Riu Bachata, Merengue, Mambo are located at the bay of Maimon near Puerto Plata (15 min with bus) and they are good. You will have the possibility to visit a lot because there is a lot to do and to discover! (Ocean World) Isabella de Torre ( cable car) and I have about 20 excursions, less expensive than in the hotels!. If you need more info just let me know on my e-mail. In October you can have some rains (10 to 20 min) and sun again. Enjoy it!

hi been there twice once for a wedding and once just for a holiday. the hotel is beautiful(I went the first year it was built about 2003/4), great all inclusive package, you actually get everything for nothing. there are 3 hotels on the complex, you can eat in all the hotels without paying extra, you only have to eat your breakfast in your hotel. overall we all had a great time, there is a mini bar in your room!!!!

We also went out on organised trips, monster truck safari(fab i would highly recommend), horse riding through the mountain forests, snorkel ling and a city tour which includes the local rum factory(buy a bottle of 151 rum and enjoy).

there are also a lot of organised sports(volleyball/football etc) during the day, as well as the entertainment staff to teach you the merenge. they also put on shows every evening early ones for the kiddies and then another for the adults.

i had a wonderful time there and will be going back eventually, can't help with the weather i went in may.
