Rivals St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks ready to face each other – NFL Preview
In an attempt to reduce the damage that has already stained their records, the two relatively weaker sides of the National Football League Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams will take on each other at the Edward Jones Dome in
the week 11 game of the current season on Sunday.
The season is far too away from being ideal for the National Football Conference West division rivals. Rams have been cornered with seven defeats in nine games whereas Seahawks’ stats are also not impressive as they have just three
wins in their nine games.
However, a motivating factor that both equally carry entering the game is their successful last week.
Adding to their momentum, Rams overcame Cleveland Browns 13-12 in a nail biter to secure their second victory in the last three games. On the other hand, Seahawks proved to be too much for Baltimore Ravens and grabbed a victory
22-17 to end their three-game losing streak.
Both sides are now looking to build on their winning streak, but have been plagued by injuries.
Seahawks have been suffering from injuries of their key players that include wide receivers Dough Baldwin and Sidney Rice, reserve linebacker David Vobora and strong safety Kam Chancellor.
All of them either missed the last game of left without finishing it. However, the progress of their recovery is satisfactory and the coach hoped that all the players would be available for Sunday’s game.
“We’re looking pretty good. These guys are feeling pretty good,” Seahawks coach Peter Carroll said.
Unfortunately, Seahawks will not be able to have services of offensive guard John Moffitt who received a season-ending knee injury in the game against Ravens. He will have to undergo a surgery and will require more than three months
to recover.
"We're going to miss him," the coach said about Moffitt, "but we'll get him right.”
The same is the case with Rams. Cornerback Al Harris and tight end Mike Hoomanawanui have damaged knees and will not play against Seahawks. However, Rams are not bothered by the injuries and are ready to play the backups.
Rams’ running back Steven Jackson is of the view that injuries are a part of the game and the progress any team should not be hindered by them.
"Guys keep going down and we have the young guys and new guys who weren't on the depth chart at the beginning of the season come to fill the holes," Jackson said. "They have to come in and play right away."
