Question:

River Fishing in Co.Cork?

My parents are coming to Ireland next week I'd like to organise a fishing trip for my dad somewhere not far from Cork City. He likes river fishing (trouts, mainly) and he would be a very experienced fisher. Does anyone know of a good spot i could take him for the day? Also, do you know if you need a special permit/license and how you can get one? Thanks so much!

  1. You will need permission to fish each beat of the river, they are often owned by local angling clubs, so check around, as for permits in ireland i think you will, as to obtaining them i don't know. I suggest you hire a guide even though your father knows how to fish the guide will arrange where to fish, permits, help with fly selection and give him some local tips, contact one of these

Lough corrib is also a great place to fly fish if its close to where you intend to go.
